Using Geospatial Technology and Solar Power to Provide Sustainable Refrigeration in Africa

Koolboks is a French tech startup with a focus on serving a Nigerian market. The startup seeks to make cooling affordable and accessible to all, using solar energy to power refrigerators. The company promises round-the-clock refrigeration without access to on-grid electricity at very affordable rates.

Delta goes into partnership with Koolboks for supply of solar refrigerators

Director-General of Delta State Contributory

Healthcare Scheme, Dr Ben Nkechika who signed on

behalf of the State Government, said the agreement

was aimed at a more effective healthcare delivery in the state.

Apart from being the supplier, Nkechika said Koolboks

would also be responsible for the maintenance of the

solar refrigerators,  lamenting that lack of electricity had always led to the compromise of the effectiveness of vaccines in rural health facilities.
